This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When the website is accessed, IONOS processes technically necessary access data as a processor, in particular the requested page or file, referrer, browser type and version, operating system, device type, access time and an IP address anonymised at the time of collection. According to IONOS, this visitor data is stored for eight weeks and is also processed for WebAnalytics.

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure, stable and error-free operation of the website.

3. Public crew list

Upon request, the app displays first names of crew members in a public crew list. A name is published only with the consent of the person concerned or, where required, their legal guardian. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future; the relevant name will then be removed from the app.

Voluntary financial support may be sent via PayPal together with a request to be added to the crew list. The website receives no payment data from PayPal and publishes neither contribution amounts nor the names of paying persons. PayPal's privacy policy applies to the payment.

4. Visitor statistics within the app

The app keeps a simple local count of page views per calendar day. No IP addresses, cookies, device identifiers or user accounts are stored. The counts are stored only on the web server and are not transmitted to third parties. They remain there until manually deleted or until the app is discontinued.

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is a simple analysis of usage and technical capacity planning.

5. Externally loaded content

The app page loads technically necessary files and map displays from external providers. The IP address of the accessing device is transmitted to the respective provider:

• UNPKG for the Leaflet map library,
• Esri for the base map.

This integration is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is a clear and illustrative presentation of the vessel's voyage. Processing in third countries cannot be ruled out for providers outside the European Union.

6. Position, weather and text services

Position and weather data are retrieved automatically by the web server and processed there into voyage descriptions. No visitor IP addresses, cookies or information from the crew list are transmitted to DataDocked, Open-Meteo, Nominatim/OpenStreetMap or Anthropic. Only publicly available vessel, position and weather data are processed.

7. Cookies and local storage

The app itself does not set cookies or store information in the browser's local storage. The app does not carry out personal user tracking.

8. External links

Simply viewing this website does not transmit any data to the blog or PayPal through the links. The privacy policy of the destination website applies only after a link is opened.

9. Rights of data subjects

Subject to the statutory requirements, data subjects have in particular the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Consent may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.
